Sunnyvale Wrestling Club is coming off a strong April, competing at the Silver Hawk Open, Women’s National Championships, and the CAUSAW Fargo Qualifier. Our athletes’ hard work continues to show, with multiple champions, podium finishes, and valuable national-level experience.

As we build on this momentum, we’re excited to host the SCVWA Firebird Open on April 25 at Fremont High School. We’ll need volunteer support from our SWC families and community to help make this event a success—thank you in advance for being part of the team!

Sunnyvale Wrestling Club delivered an impressive stretch of performances across three major events, highlighted by multiple champions, podium finishes, and a standout showing at the Northwest Regional Championships—one of the top Fargo National qualifiers. From dominant local tournament victories to battling against elite regional competition, Sunnyvale athletes showcased resilience, growth, and competitive excellence at every level.

Join us this summer for the Wrestling FUNdamentals Camp, June 15–18 at Fremont High School in Sunnyvale. Featuring nationally respected clinician Jeff Marsh, this camp gives K–8 wrestlers the opportunity to develop essential skills, build confidence, and train in a high-energy environment.

Sunnyvale Wrestling Club opened the freestyle and Greco season with a strong showing at the SCVWA Quick Silver Open, bringing a large roster of athletes and earning multiple championships and podium finishes. With standout performances across all age groups and dozens of matches competed, the team built early-season momentum heading into next weekend’s Combat King Open.

We’re excited to announce that registration for the 2025 season will officially open on August 18th! Whether you’re a returning wrestler or new to the mat, we welcome all athletes to be part of another great year.

Sunnyvale Wrestling Club is excited to announce the return of Opening Weekend, a two-day wrestling event kicking off the high school season. This year’s event features a Saturday clinic with Olympian, NCAA Champion, and NCAA pin record-holder “Mean” Gene Mills, known for his aggressive, fall-focused style and dedication to youth wrestling. On Sunday, the action continues with the SCVWA Black Sheep Classic Tournament, bringing together top talent from across the region. Building on the success of last year’s event with Kendall Cross, Opening Weekend is quickly becoming a premier wrestling tradition in the South Bay.
